About the horsefoodie herb mix

Custom-made horse food

After your purchase on the website, the herb mix is individually measured and composed on the animal by means of the data you have provided. The selected minerals, vitamins, medications, supplements, oils and vinegar are measured on different types of HorseComplete`s assortment. The contents of the herb mix are of course all herbs, but magnesium oxide, chlorella and spirulina powder can also be added, as well as a cure to strong-working herbs, as these can be essential for your animal in combination with the herb mix. The composition is defined on the packaging with an advice for use.

Advice

You will also receive advice on all other measured products when they emerge from the measurement. These products can then be purchased by yourself, such as in an organic shop. Examples include rapeseed oil, apple cider vinegar, alpha lipoic acid and such. If something that’s alarming emerges from the measurement, you will be contacted.

PLEASE NOTE!!!

As with humans, some horses, dogs and cats etc. can be susceptible to changes in the feed. In the beginning, give small bits of the herbs and watch the animals react to them.

Herbs are an addition to the daily feed, such as roughage. In case of illness, consult a veterinarian and do not experiment with herbs (mixes). We cannot be held responsible for other uses of the herbs than advised by us. The information on our site is for informational purposes only and is not intended for advice or as a user manual.

Shelf life

In order to be able to use the products even after the purchase, it is important to keep the products dry and cool. The herb mix is definitely good for a yearlong if stored. All products are dried, but there may still be residual moisture. If the products are kept warm (in the sun), condensation can occur in the bag. This can cause mold to come into the bag. If you see moisture in the bag, leave the bag open so that the moisture can evaporate. It is also important to keep the products in the dark, in order to avoid degradation of important nutrients under the influence of the light.

The cost and use of herbs

The use of herbs

The herbs are measured for a period of about 5 weeks, depending on the amount you give to your horse on a daily basis. Experience has taught that after 5 to 6 weeks the horse has sufficiently taken out all of the goodness of the herb mix. The combination of the herb mix has done its job, the horse does not need to have it anymore and will be ready for a new herb mix.

Do you know

After 5 to 8 weeks certain herbs also lose their effect, or it can no longer be given in relation to any side effects. Some herbs can be given more often or longer. Never give the same herbs to your horse for months or years.

Custom made herb mix

If we start to measure again after this period for a new herb mix, we see that the horse has new needs and now chooses a different composition of spices. In case of illness, stress and pain, we see certain herbs returning to the mix more often.

The regular use of our herb mix helps the horse to stay in good condition and helps to prevent colic and diseases. The nutrients in the herbs contribute to stay physically and mentally in balance and complement the daily needs of the horse. Most of our customers use the herb mix as basic maintenance for their horse, but the herb mix can also be used for a one-time period.

The cost of a herb mix

Horse owners find herb mixes expensive, but is it? For an average horse you pay €47,-per herb mix per 5 weeks excluding shipping costs. Converted that is rounded €1.30 per day. If you include the herb mix in your feed management, you need 10 mixes per year. Concentrated pellets is cheaper, but where do you save? The health of your horse?

Benefits of Herbal Mixes

If you use herb mixes for your horse or pony and this is (again) healthy and balanced, then you have the following benefits:

1. you consume to a much lesser extent of strength feed or supplements. This will save you a lot of money on expensive products.

2. The costs for the veterinarian are reduced, because the horse is healthy and balanced and therefore much less comprehensible for colic, gastric ulcers, bacteria, eczema, viruses and especially nutritional-related diseases (EMS).

3. The horse is better trainable, it does not have to physically process products that do not fit with him, which can cause rigidity, stiffness and acidification.

4. The horse can be their selves mentally , partly due to too many sugars and stomach or abdominal pain, a horse can mentally change in a negative sense.

5. The horse is less prone to injury because joints and connective tissues are also provided with the right nutrients.

6. the horse often gets better quality hooves and a nicer coat.

7. herbs work preventively and help with problems and the recovery of the horse.

A hand of herbs a day, keeps the vet away!

The function of Herbs

Herbs take their time

Herbs are not a drug with a rapid effect, but it takes time to work. Medications often contain a specific constituent extracted from an herb by the pharmaceutical industry. This means that the constituent is very concentrated and can be used in certain doses for a problem, but it also often has side effects due to the relatively ' violent ' effect and synthetic substances added to the drug. The use of medication can not always be avoided, but if it succeeds it is nicely taken!

Broad spectrum

Herbs have a much broader spectrum of action and can help in both physical and mental problems. All active ingredients in an herb also work together and complement each other. For example, peppermint leaf can support the digestive system, but also help with unrest. Because it goes through the natural way it needs a start-up time and that can take a few days to weeks, entirely depending on the condition of the horse and the nature of the problems. Changing the Constitution of the whole horse can take even longer than a year in case of severe cases, with the horse being in imbalance for a long time.
